Once your reservation is made, Ships Watch will forward a Confirmation/Lease Agreement. The signed lease agreement, along with your advanced rent payment of one half of the gross rent, plus trip cancellation premium, if chosen, must be returned to Ships Watch within 10 days of the lease date or the reservation will automatically be canceled without notice. A non-refundable $125.00 administration fee is applied to every reservation. Please make checks payable to Ships Watch and mail to: 1251 Duck Road, Duck, North Carolina 27949. Personal checks are not accepted at check-in or less than thirty days prior to check-in.
A security deposit of $1000 is required on all rentals. The security deposit, less any deductions for damaged or missing items, fines or telephone charges, will be returned to the rental guest within 45 days of checkout date. A Security Deposit Waiver is also available in lieu of a Security Deposit. Please contact our rental department for more information.
In case of cancellation, no refund of rents will be made until the cancelled period is re-rented and confirmed. If the cancelled period cannot be re-rented, no money will be returned (see trip cancellation insurance and hurricanes). If the cancelled period is re-rented, any rent monies paid will be refunded to you, less a $125.00 handling fee. Balances for leases two weeks or longer must be paid in full prior to check-in if the cancelled portion of such lease has not been re-rented.
In the event of a mandatory/ordered evacuation by the Dare County Emergency Management Control Group, no rebate will be offered. However, Trip Cancellation Insurance is available as a viable alternative, as it offers additional coverage such as a death in the family, medical emergency, as well as storm evacuation. Trip cancellation insurance charges are automatically added to your advance rent payment. If you do not wish to purchase this coverage, you may delete the charge by initialing where appropriate on your lease. We strongly urge you to take advantage of this option, as no refunds will be offered.
Our policy is to rent to family groups only. We do not rent to sororities, fraternities, or other non-family or unrelated groups or to persons under 24 years of age.
